Week 6

We’ve had our usual week of productive learning with a horse ride too. Thanks to Oskar for taking each boy on an excursion to practice their skip counting by 5’s.

Linda and I are so proud of the boys trying new foods. Not only do the boys eat extra fruit – kiwi fruit, mandarins, apples, grapes, carrots, rock melon and water melon that we provide daily, they eat sultanas and rice and corn cakes too. This week we’ve even had a boy eating red salmon on the rice cakes and one eating sliced cheese on a rice cake. If you’d like to purchase the thin rice cakes that are so popular at present they are in Aldi and great value at $1.49 for 25 rice cakes and that’s considerably cheaper than other packaged sometimes food options.

Thanks to the parents that are showing an interest in changing what’s in their child’s lunchbox. Providing healthy food options by adding an extra whole meal or grain sandwich or pieces of fruit or sultanas or home cooked foods and not offering packaged food or sometimes food will assist your child to develop great healthy eating habits. Ultimately you decide what your child consumes but if you’d like us to assist and support your decision, we will actively encourage your child to make these healthy choices at school too.

This week the boys favourite lunch and recess activity was throwing a Frisbee around the back oval and playing on the play equipment. Well done to Blake Piper’s family who were the co winners of this weeks family challenge.
