Bounce Back

As a whole school initiative all classes are focusing on the Bounce Back Program as it supports our Kid’s Matter program. To begin the unit we will focus on what a bucket dipper and a bucket filler are then go onto our ‘Core Values’ unit and then a ‘No bullying’ unit as we all know that bullies are bucket dippers.

I’ve included ‘How full is your bucket?’ and ‘Have you filled a bucket today?’ I’ve also found some other worthwhile clips too that support the same message.

Watching these clips at home with your child will support what we are doing at school and hopefully the boys will begin using this language too as that will show an understanding of what the message implies. Ask them to tell you how we fill buckets everyday?

  1. I like this. At home Drew does kind of rule the roost as such and tends to stand over his brother. He also tries to stand over us as parents also, which makes his behaviour very challenging at home. Would like to see more of this implemented and will attempt to continue this at home. Promoting great behaviour and pointing out what bullying is in the school and home environment is something that our kids need to be shown and guided in quite regularly to reiterate great behaviour and caring for others!!

    • Thanks Krista and Andrew for your honest and frank comments. I found this simple bucket filler and bucket dipper concept and it leads beautifully into our core values and anti bullying program which link in with our Kids Matter school program.
